INTERIOR DESIGNER/ INTERIOR ARCHITECT
Responsibilities
The role combines design and management responsibilities to ensure successful project delivery.
On the design side, the team member will create furniture plans, elevations, and custom drawings in CAD, participate in internal and client meetings, and track changes to design materials. They will also attend workroom and showroom meetings with principal designers, documenting decisions and updating schedules.
In terms of management, the team member will handle project budgets, schedules, and scope documents, solicit quotes, and create proposals and invoices in Studio Designer. They will track purchases, coordinate job site progress, manage vendors and contractors, and ensure timely project completion. Regular communication with principal designers and managing project installations will be key, along with maintaining project files.
Additionally, the team member will guide studio interns, manage design assistants, and ensure presentations meet office standards. They will coordinate with consultants, generate creative solutions, and work with the Director of Operations to manage project fees and schedules.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates must have confident presentation skills, strong design point of view, understanding of the Christina Cole studio brand and the ability to collaborate in a team environment. This is a client facing role with the opportunity to assist on projects from pitch through to completion. Must exhibit strong organizational, time management and communications skills. Great opportunity for a highly motivated and well-rounded designer seeking responsibility with challenging workplace projects in a creative work environment.
A degree from an accredited Interior Design or Architecture program, ideally with 3-5 years of experience in a role that involved independent project management. Proficiency in AutoCAD (drawing plans and furniture from scratch, office standards), Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), Google Suite (Email, Sheets, Documents), Microsoft Office (creating and updated schedules/spreadsheets) Studio Designer (creating budgets, proposals, invoices, reports), Dropbox, and Sketch Up preferred. Willingness to travel.
